Funk Tribu has launched Rituals Vol. 1, the first in a compilation series on his TRIBE label, which features Afem Syko, HANAA, Supergloss and Vall Du Son.
The compilation reflects TRIBE’s development as a label and collective centred on music, events and community since its launch last year. TRIBE has hosted events in Bogotá, Paris, Amsterdam and Brussels, as well as screenings in Berlin, while releases to date have featured Funk Tribu and emerging artists from different parts of the world.
Each artist on Rituals Vol. 1 has an existing connection with Funk Tribu or TRIBE. Afem Syko was first discovered by Funk Tribu while DJing in Bogotá; Supergloss became a regular presence at TRIBE events after Funk Tribu heard her playing in Serbia; Vall Du Son met Funk Tribu at ADE in 2024 and subsequently became a regular part of his sets; while HANAA is the most recent addition to the TRIBE community.
The artwork for the series reflects the individual stories behind the four contributions, featuring a handprint from each artist.
“What I like about the compilation is that there wasn’t one specific way these tracks came together,” Funk Tribu commented. “Each artist and track has its own story and connection to me, but somehow they all ended up fitting into the same ritual.”
Rituals Vol. 1 is available now via streaming platforms. Check it out here.
