If you’re thinking that the new single from Brighton collective Kudu Blue sounds like it could have been recorded 30 years ago, you’re not the only one.
The single, Just A Second, incorporates early 90s breakbeats and rave-era synths – coupled with uplifting lyrics from vocalist Clem – bringing back hazy memories of days gone by.
It’s set to feature on the group’s KBVOL.5 EP, which is set for release in June, and can be downloaded/streamed here.
Kudu Blue are on something of a roll at the moment – last year’s KBVOL.4 EP and the 2020 release Are You With Me? helped shift the group into a more dancefloor-focused space.
Combining elements of trip hop, garage, rock and reggae, the group broke through with 2019’s Somebody To, leading to a performance at Glastonbury, as well as a myriad of other venues and festivals – a momentum that has resumed following the pandemic.
Just A Second by Kudu Blue is out now, and can be downloaded/streamed here.
