Tuff Jam, aka Karl ‘Tuff Enuff’ Brown and Matt ‘Jam’ Lamont, were among the pioneering producers of the UK Garage scene of the mid- to late-90s, and the duo have just announced the long-awaited digital release of their extensive back-catalogue of productions.

The back catalogue, which includes tracks such as Experience, Need Good Love, Tumblin’ Down, History Of House Music (alongside Tyree Cooper) and more, is now available to stream via digital platforms – check it out here.

“It’s been 24 years since our last Tuff Jam release so I’m very excited that our back catalogue will finally be available on all streaming platforms for our supporters old and new to enjoy,” commented Matt ‘Jam’ Lamont. “Also very happy it’s being re-released with major label BMG who we feel mirrors our vision with this project.”

Frequently referred to as the Godfathers of UK Garage, Tuff Jam built a devoted following on London’s Kiss 100 from 1997 until 2000, having first started working together back in 1993.

Their back catalogue spans a variety of independent labels, including their own Unda-Vybe Music imprint, as well as garage remixes of artists such as Tina Moore, Usher, Ce Ce Peniston, Rosie Gaines, En Vogue, Doolally, Kristine Blonde, Kim English, Soul II Soul and Boyz II Men.

“The first ever digital release of the Tuff Jam productions catalogue is an exciting opportunity, and it’s great to be working with the team at BMG to make this happen in 2024,” added Karl ‘Tuff Enuff’ Brown. “It’s also quite surreal to think it’s been over 20 years since the first Tuff Jam collaboration!”
